Looking for a Unique Kids Party Venue in Birmingham? Ever considered Pinball?
We recently hosted our first kids’ birthday party at The Pinball Factory, and it went down a storm. So well, in fact, that we’re now opening it up properly – and if you’re hunting for something a bit different to soft play or the usual party venues, here’s why pinball works so brilliantly for kids.
Around 30 machines, all on free play
There’s no queueing at a change machine and no rationing out tokens. Every machine in the club is set to free play, so the kids simply walk up and play. With around 30 machines on the floor, there’s no waiting around either.
Themes they actually recognise
This is the bit that surprises parents. Pinball isn’t all 1970s bells and chrome — modern machines are packed with lights, video screens, music and callouts from the films and shows kids already love. Our line-up includes Marvel, Spider-Man, Star Wars, The Mandalorian, Godzilla, King Kong and plenty more, alongside classics from the 80s and 90s. You can see the full list of machines here.
Gamers love it — but the phones stay in pockets
If you’ve got a group of kids who’d normally spend the afternoon on their phones, pinball is the perfect trap. It scratches exactly the same itch — scores, missions, unlocking things, chasing a high score — but it’s physical, loud, and happening in front of them. We’ve yet to see a phone come out once the games start!
Every machine is four-player
That means friends play together rather than taking turns and getting bored. Groups naturally form around machines, egg each other on, and rotate around the room. It’s genuinely social in a way that a screen each never is.
Structured or let them run wild
Some groups want a bit of shape to the party — we can run a mini tournament, a high-score challenge, or a knockout format with a winner at the end. Others just want the doors opened and the kids let loose. Both work. Tell us which you’d prefer and we’ll set it up.
Somewhere different in Digbeth, Birmingham.
We’re based at the Custard Factory in Digbeth, which makes for a party venue with a bit more character than a function room.
There is lots of easy accessible parking, there are some great venues locally to get food after – or you can bring your own to keep prices down.
Parents get somewhere decent to sit, and there’s plenty going on nearby.
Food & Drinks
You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks so you can keep it relatively healthy, keep costs low or just not have to serve up the nasty and overpriced nuggets and chips offers from most venues. If you want some help with catering drop us a line and we can point you in the right direction.
The details
Parties are £200 for a two hour private hire for up to 30 kids (so you can bring the whole class).
Pinball really seems to suit kids 10 years or older – they get it and get on with it in no time and it really maps onto the experience they undoubtedly have as the gamer generation!

We had a great time organising a child’s birthday party at The Pinball Factory in Digbeth. Marcus made sure everything went smoothly and there was plenty of support from the venue on the day. The children had a great time and the adults were able to socialise in the side room where we also set up the food. I would highly recommend this place-it’s the most stress free party we’ve ever organised and everyone left happy after a great day. Couldn’t have been better.

The Pinball Factory is a not-for-profit club run by volunteers, so every penny goes back into rent, maintenance and keeping pinball alive in Birmingham. This is not some ghastly corporate venue – we do this because we love it and we feel that is what makes the difference when people come along. 🙂
