Bram Stokers Dracula

THE MACHINE

About Bram Stokers Dracula

Sink your teeth into a gothic masterpiece! Designed by Barry Oursler and based on the 1992 Francis Ford Coppola film, Bram Stoker’s Dracula (BSD) is legendary among the Pinside and Tilt Forums communities for its moody atmosphere and “brutal but brilliant” gameplay.

The machine’s crowning achievement is the “Mist Multiball,” featuring a ball that magically floats across the playfield via a hidden magnet—a feat of engineering that still leaves players spellbound. The game is famous for its stackable multiballs; by carefully timing the Mist, Coffin, and Castle modes, you can trigger a “Triple Multiball” where jackpots reach blood-curdling heights. With its dark, blood-red display and the haunting voice of Gary Oldman, the tension never lets up.

Why Play It?

Enthusiasts call it one of the best “one-more-game” machines ever made. It rewards precision over luck, punishing missed shots but offering immense satisfaction when you hear the iconic “Thirty Million!” callout. It’s fast, mean, and perfectly captures the cinematic dread of the source material.

Come test your skills and see if you’re brave enough to face the Princes of Darkness and survive the night in Transylvania!

Rules

You can find the pinball machine rulesheet at this link:  https://www.pinball.org/rules/dracula.html

You can find a summary of the rules below.

Main Objectives:

> Stack the Multiballs: the core strategy is to start and overlap the three distinct multiballs

  • 2 Active Multiballs: all scoring 2x
  • 3 Active Multiballs: all scoring is 3x

> Collect Jackpots: during multiball play, focus on the Left Ramp (Castle) and Right Ramp (Coffin) to collect massive multiplied jackpots.

> Survive the Night: the goal is to simply survive long enough to exploit the triple-scoring windows.

Key Mechanics:

> Mist Multiball: a ball magnetically travels across the playfield behind a green mistgraphic. You must hit the ‘ghost ball’ with your active ball to knock it loose and start a 2-ball multiball.

> Castle Multiball: light locks by shooting the Left Ramp or completing the stand-up target banks. After shooting 3 balls and starting the mode, shoot the Left Ramp to light the jackpot, then shoot the sinkhole to collect it.

> Coffin Multiball: shoot the right ramps to advance the Stake targets. Once the coffin lid opens, lock 3 balls in the coffin to start a 3-ball multiball. Complete the D-R-A-C-U-L-A letters by shooting the ramps to light the jackpot.

> Bats and Rats: triggered by the Left Ramp, you must hit a certain number of any playfield switches as fast as possible. Completing these increases your end-of-ball bonus for the rest of the game.

> Video Mode: lit by shooting the Left Ramp (V-I-D-E-O). Use the flippers buttons to aim and shoot werewolves on DMD.
